Pilates is a core-based workout. Joseph Pilates, the creator of the Pilates workout coined the core, the “Powerhouse”. The Powerhouse includes the abdominals, back muscles, glutes, inner thighs and hamstrings. There are a few styles of Pilates but here at Matte, we focus only on the mat. That means you can take this workout anywhere and do anytime.

The exercises you see repeated throughout the classes, is Pilates. Mat Pilates consists of 24 classical exercises ordered in a set sequence. Here at Matte, we remix that a lot. We build our class around different focuses and flows so while you won’t see many classic sequences, you’ll get classes that feature plenty of the exercises…a lil chopped and screwed.

Pilates bodies are yummy! And every single body can reap the physical benefits of this workout. We know exactly what imagery exists around Pilates and that’s what we want to change. The Matte workout is a contemporary style Pilates class mixed with some low impact HIIT, sculpt and other fitness elements to give you an enjoyable comprehensive workout. In short… yes-this is for you, boo!

This is your workout-you decide. This isn’t a method that only works if you follow a set amount of time or days. We want you to create a sustainable routine that works for your lifestyle. Maybe you become a Matte loyalist and take class daily or maybe you sprinkle Matte in with other formats you enjoy, the choice is yours. Results here work like results with any other program-it takes consistency and proper nutrition. We’re realists here and aren’t selling dreams without the work.

You need a mat. Weights, bands and sliders are optional. Classes using equipment will be annotated.

Subscriptions get charged on the same day each month that you have subscribed. For example, if you first subscribed on March 15th, you would next be charged on April 15th. The same applies for annual memberships.
